‘Attack on CJP’s nephew has angered us’
LAHORE: The recent attack on the house of the CJP’s nephew and on the chamber of a former LHCBA president Ahmad Awais, who is also Imran Khan’s counsel, have increased the lawyers’ anger against the government and they announced to protest with more eagerness on their weekly protest day on Thursday (today). Lawyers told Daily Times that the government was using pressure tactics to frighten the lawyers, but they would never retreat an inch from their stance till the reinstatement of the CJP and revival of the constitution and rule of law in the country. They said they would slam the Pakistani and British government against the knighting of blasphemer author Salman Rushdie. They said black flags would be hoisted at bar association buildings and the protesting lawyers would wear black armbands. They said this would be the sixth rally on consecutive Thursdays on the call of the lawyers’ Joint Action Committee. staff report
